Phd in Plant Pathology with experience working in crop science for global agri-tech companies and agricultural development NGOs focussed on sustainable livelihoods. Strong network in the agricultural sector and organic farming in Cambodia, Bangladesh, Australia and the US.
PHIROM YANG – C0O Local partner
+20 years in agriculture and rural development in Cambodia, Phirom is the Director of the Cambodian Organic Farm Enterprise (COFE), our first local rice mill partner. COFE is a cooperative with a membership of 2,500 smallholder rice farmers, producing organic fair trade rice and other products for local and international markets.

Christophe is currently vice-chair of the governing panel of CGIAR’s Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security Program, a $70M per year research programme. PhD in horticulture sciences and founder of Smallholder Solutions.
HELEN RUSSELL – Social Impact Advisor
20+ years experience assessing social impacts of development assistance and project finance. Involved in the UK Government’s response to the UN Framework on Business and Human Rights. Helen advises Husk on social impact evaluation and alignment with international standards on social sustainability and human rights.
ALBERT BATES – Biochar Advisor
Thoroughgoing knowledge of climate science, energy and law; United Nations general consultative status through DPI-NGO/ECOSOC; permaculture design certification and teacher training. Albert shared the first Right Livelihood Award in 1980 for the work of Plenty International in protecting indigenous cultures. Author of Burn, Using Fire to Keep the Planet Cool, presented at COP19.
